Electric Bedroom, a realm inhabited by the illustrator and artist Juergen Frey, emerges as a catalyst for pushing boundaries in the electronic music landscape. Growing up immersed in the captivating sounds of the 80s by Artists like Depeche Mode, Talk Talk, Kraftwerk or Jean Michel Jarre and witnessing the evolution of computer technology and it’s impact on society.
From the humble beginnings of Pong to the advent of artificial intelligence and quantum computing, he found himself living in a world that often surpassed the awe-inspiring science fiction films he cherished, such as Blade Runner or 1984.
In the 90s, techno and particularly IDM, such as Aphex Twin and Autechre, represented a completely new sense of life and a unique understanding and creation of music for him. Since 1998, with the emergence of computer technology and the advent of early softsynth plugins, Juergen began exploring these sonic realms by himself. Beginning with software tools like Rebirth and Generator, his journey led him to explore the sonic possibilities of early softsynths and the addictive realm of Fruityloops 1.0, now better known as FL Studio. However, it was the allure of hardware synthesizers that truly captured his heart, providing an outlet for his boundless creativity. It’s a journey, and the long road has been the most beautiful destination for him.
Join Juergen Frey on a sonic expedition through the digital age, where his diverse influences converge to create captivating melodies, pulsating rhythms, and profound compositions.
